WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY:
WHY THE KITCHEN DOULA ACADEMY?
The Kitchen Doula Academy is a training program for all birth workers, doulas and other birth professionals.
It's for all the people who wants to add nutrition aspect to their collection of certificates.
The Kitchen Doula Academy's goal is to teach things in a holistic approach and offer functional nutrition in our course work.
We offer an always improving way to thinking. Trying to make things better and easier for their students. About your instructor here!
Our classes are awesome!
We focus on helping mothers with nutrition and pregnancy and postpartum too.
We also help mamas with fertility nutrition - conceiving a child is a lot of work - so getting the right foods in is important.
Our postnatal nutrition course will focus on postpartum depletion and how to cure that with foods plus other tips. We also plan to include some Ayurveda tips in our postnatal nutrition course.
We may include in the future some add-on mini-classes from belly-binding to rebozo. Please check back on these featured items - they will be pop-up classes that come around seasonally. FAQ page is here!
Our Philosophy:
We believe nutrition is important for every mother. My own story: I had pregnancy anemia with my 3rd baby. I was almost pre-eclampsia. However, we caught this early enough. I put myself on a strict meat protein diet - little dairy and ate specifically no dairy with meat. Calcium ruins iron absorption! I would only eat my calcium for breakfast! Since I was also supplementing iron as well, all of this helped boost my immune system and help me make a healthy baby! By the time I was ready to give birth, my pregnancy anemia was GONE!! I birthed in water my healthy 8 lb. 3 oz. baby boy!! And I am a tiny person, this was my biggest baby! So, nutrition is important for every mother. Anyone is welcome to take our classes. We do hope to have a more specific mama class in the future. Hope here to learn about our main course!
